Project Tarpon Contest
Two tags are outstanding for fish that were caught during the Port O'Connor, Texas Tarpon Tomorrow tournament in the bay this past summer.

Both fish weighed over 140 lbs.

They are set to pop-off on February 15th and are still in the fish.

Pick a Lat/Lon for each - you must number them 1 and 2 and post your choices in response to this thread.

1 = the first fish tagged (the larger fish - tagged by my boat - first fish tagged) 2 = the second fish tagged.

Whoever gets the closest for the first fish, wins a Sabalo Seducer casting rod, made to your requested length by Savage Rods. If you win on the second fish, you will get a Project Tarpon hat. One person can not win both. If you win the first, you are not eligible to win the second one. You have to assign a Lat/Lon coordinate to a particular tag.

ENTRY DEADLINE JANUARY 29th at Midnight C.S.T. (that's Friday night at midnight) [If the tags pop-off early the contest will end immediately - so get your entries in early, just in case]

(distance will be determined by Google Earth and if there is somehow a tie, the first person to pick wins the tie breaker)(obviously the more detailed Lat/Lon you give me the better chances of not having a tie)

Entry is completely free... just put your guess on this post.

Good luck.

Here is a photo of the hats you could win.

RE: Project Tarpon Contest
Just so yall know - I want you to remember that if the tags come off early - as they do sometimes - the contest will end immediately - so the sooner you get your selections in, the better.... don't wait until the deadline.

RE: Project Tarpon Contest
first tag 20 29.55N x 96 57.594W

second tag 18 48.332N x 95 43.275W

And I've got lunch at Otto's on the Neblett fish swimming farther than the Alford fish. Ours was a gamer, and released in extra good shape (did you see the shot of Red Bull I slipped her before passing the gaff rope?)!

RE: Project Tarpon Contest
Was it a "Red Bull" or a "Bull Red" - I can't remember..... That won't do you any good - everybody knows "Rockstar" is better and the first fish got a double shot of "Rockstar" - besides, it got a head start on yours. :-)

Chorizo entered - RE: Project Tarpon Contest
first tag= 20.730428;-96.882935
second tag= 18.843913;-95.674438

I am going to assume this is a google earth coordinate that is not in minutes/seconds. I am punching this number in straight with the decimal point - if not, let me know when you enter and represent your request in minutes/seconds.

Thanks

Entries so far - Sorry Hunter your number 2 is at the bottom without your name attached - for some reason.
